The other day, Phil was presenting, and someone asked, “Could you use a different word than yucky? We’ve both got that question before. We use the word yucky for the very reason they are bringing it up—the visceral response we get when we say or think “yucky.”
Of course, there are other words: the Brits use “not wants” instead of yucky. Works for them. We stick with yucky because it brings up stuff like stepping in dog poo, and you want to scrape it off (get relief) as quickly as you can. Phil and I are that way.
